Anatomy of a Clusterfuck: The Unite The Right rally should be moved to a larger location, but it probably won't...
Folks, at this point, I think it's far-fetched to think that the City is going to revoke the permit, or disallow the Unite The Right rally to go forward, but at the very least, the Unite The Right rally should be moved to a location with more room to accommodate everyone. That is a reasonable compromise. Why doesn't Jason Kessler want this rally moved? What could possibly be his issue with giving him more space? It's unclear. Perhaps his scumbag lawyer told him not to agree to move it? Perhaps this was always designed to force the issue into the courts to set a precedent? Who knows? Jason sure isn't saying, in typical cowardly Jason fashion, he's keeping his big yap trap shut. Now folks, math doesn't lie, and Emancipation Park is just not big enough to hold all of the people that various estimates expect to descend on the park on the 12th. How big is Emancipation Park? Emancipation Park is approximately 260' long by 200' wide. Not really the kind of space you'd expect for an estimated 1,000 +/- demonstrators, and as many as a couple of thousand estimated counter-protesters.
Despite how small Emancipation Park is, Jason Kessler has repeatedly stated that he DOES NOT want any attempt to move the rally. Perhaps this is the Alt-Right's strategy, to pack a lot of people into a small space, on what could potentially be an extremely hot day in the middle of August, at a time when political emotions and tempers are both running high? Sounds like a great idea, right? Be that as it may, we're hearing tonight that the City is now floating McIntire Park as a potential location for the rally to be moved to. I think this is a great idea, and it is puzzling why Jason Kessler would have any objection to such a reasonable compromise.
Of course, how can we forget that Jason also originally said that approximately 400 people would be attending the rally on his application?
Folks, lets face it, this rally should be moved to a more accommodating location, but I'm skeptical that it will be.
Restoring the honor!
