The Outsiders: Virginia Flaggers team up with the Delta Flaggers to cause trouble at the University of Mississippi?

The Virginia Flaggers have reportedly been linked to the latest flag controversy at the University of Mississippi. Via The Oxford Eagle:

"As Oxonians and Ole Miss fans prepare for tomorrow’s match-up against Georgia — the third straight home game of the season — many are wondering if last weekend’s flag-related issues will return in a different form this weekend, with more people trying to smuggle flags into the stadium or advocate for their cause while tailgaters mingle in the Grove.
On Thursday, we discovered the person who claimed ownership of the large confiscated flag unfurled before the Alabama game isn’t a student or even an Ole Miss fan, but a member of the Delta Flaggers, a pro-flag group directly tied to the Virginia Flaggers (the group that claims to have sent two large flags to Mississippi for the purposes of making a statement like what happened last week).
We support everyone’s right to peaceably protest in public places, no matter the venue. The flag issue is complex and voices on all sides deserve the right to be heard. But just as we’ve seen with other race-related issues at Ole Miss in the past — from Colonel Reb to From Dixie with Love to the renaming of Confederate Drive — outside groups are parachuting in to support their own cause, misrepresenting at least part of the student body in the process.
If Ole Miss students want to readdress the issue of restoring the state flag on their campus, they can certainly do so. But it’s a shame to be associated with groups like the Delta Flaggers who are actively campaigning to disrupt game day at multiple public universities in Mississippi, schools they don’t attend, just to prove a point."

Restoring the honor!

  1. Folks, pay attention. The Virginia Flaggers are not going to heed my warnings. So be it. They will learn the hard way.

  2. What the heck does "directly tied to" mean?

    1. Why are you asking me, I didn't write it. Looks like the word is getting out. Y'all are starting to attract the kind of attention that will be your downfall. (Attention media folks: Follow the money. Check out the business end of things, I'm sure you'll find it quite interesting.)

    2. What word is getting out? Maybe you didn't see it, but Kevin Levin wrote an article bitching about the Flaggers celebrating their 5th anniversary. There has been no "hidden word" that's now getting out. You suspicious and superstitious heritage monitors are so funny.... The "business end" has been conducted all along. Only people wanting something to be wrong look longingly at the "business end" hoping to find some irregularity.

    3. He pointed out the failures of the flaggers and their total lack of success in accomplishing their goals. Yet, the flaggers and you are so ignorant that you think you are succeeding. Sorry, but you are failing miserably. You are just too ignorant to understand you have LOST. The lost cause is a lie. It exists to sustain white supremacy.

    4. Is Chastain now replying to herself under her bogus screen name?

It must be lonely indeed in Pensacola.

    5. Nope. Just replied from the "wrong" browser. One I rarely use (it's a very poorly designed and executed browser) is reserved for Poly Graff and "The Lie Detector" -- the others for my normal screen names and activities. I simply didn't notice which one I was in. You do love to smear and denigrate, don't you? Even over something as inconsequential as this.

Well, you go ahead and wallow in the slime you love -- and enjoy yourself!

    6. You sure do whine a lot. Can't even spell your fake screen name correctly. Sad.

    1. Who are you, to question what I have a legal right to do?

Baby, you knew I couldn't quit you. I just couldn't flush you, you are my favorite turd.

  4. Virginian Ed Ayres (lives in Richmond) went to Mississippi to meddle in their flag issue. If it's okay for one Virginian, it's okay for other Virginians and other out-of-staters to do the same thing...

    1. And thus it's okay for outsiders to hold forth on what happens in Virginia. So much for the "outsider" claim. Thanks!

    2. Ed Ayres is a professional Civil War historian, educator and former head of Richmond University. He may have some knowledge of history that the flaggers have repeatedly shown they do not.

    3. Irrelevant to the Mississippi flag issue, chump. The people of the state voted long ago to keep the flag as is. These delicate snowflakes at the universities who need "safe spaces" and get traumatized by sidewalk chalk are spitting in the faces of real Mississippians. But as long as they're going to push, there will be a push-back.

    4. Yes, Simpson, the haters of our heritage have made it an issue that crosses state lines. Like when you gnat-buzzed the Richmond media with Tweets FROM ARIZONA, trying to sic them onto the VaFlaggers. Remember, we heritage folks aren't the ones who started the outsider meddling, but we will finish it.

    5. Yawn. Wait until the Washington Post gets ahold of the Flaggers.

    6. They have Barry out in preemptive strike mode to counteract any potential negative publicity that may crop up:
