Stupid-er Is, As Stupid-er Does: Connie Chastain swallows another one hook, line, and sinker...

The Donald said it, so it has to be true. Only a total moron would fall for Trump's baiting. Case in point, the Facebook post above. They still have not figured it out. Trump is baiting them. He's saying everything they have always wanted to hear. Playing to all of their fears. Speaking their language. This dude is 100% acting, and you idiots are so full of hate that you are eating it up like candy. Donald Trump's entire reason for being in this race is shredding the GOP and honeypotting all of America's racists, xenophobes, bigots, misogynists, etc..

Tommy Dimassimo taunting dumb hicks at Stone Mountain, Georgia, August 2015. (Image courtesy of freerepublic.com)

As soon as I watched the video, I immediately recognized the dude in the video as the guy who was at Stone Mountain mocking all of the dumb hicks last summer. Now, the news media is starting to debunk Trump's claim, which in my opinion, was intended to speak ONLY to the racist hatemongers who support his candidacy. Via the New York Post:

"WASHINGTON — Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is claiming that the man who tried to rush the stage at his Ohio rally Saturday morning is connected to Islamic State militants – an allegation Middle East experts dismiss as farcical.
Trump was mid-speech at a rally at an airport near Dayton when a man, later identified by authorities as Thomas Dimassimo of Fairborn, Ohio, jumped a barricade and rushed at Trump. Video from the rally shows Dimassimo was able to touch the stage before security officials tackled him.
Speaking at a rally later Saturday in St. Lois, Trump told the crowd about the incident and said that, after learning the man’s name, one of his “Internet people” discovered something shocking: alleged evidence that linked Dimassimo to Islamic State militants.
“It was probably ISIS or ISIS-related. Do you believe it?” Trump asked the crowd. He said that an online search had revealed “the guy is playing all sorts of, let’s say music that you wouldn’t be liking, dragging an American flag along the sidewalk, making all sorts of gestures, having all sorts of things on the Internet. And he’s probably or possibly ISIS-related.”
Trump appeared to be referring to a video, which was posted on his official Twitter account, that shows student protesters stepping on American flags, declaring, “Black Live Matters” and talking to reporters while religious music plays. It appears to be an edited version of a video posted on YouTube in April 2015 captioned, “Students at Wright State University #NotMyFlag protest. The protest occurred to stand in solidarity with the symbolic actions of Eric Sheppard.” The original does not include the religious soundtrack.
Hassan Hassan, the co-author of the book “ISIS: Inside the Army of Terror,” says the video is “definitely not an ISIS video” based on its content.
“This is utterly farcical; the video is incontrovertibly fake and Trump’s accusations about it being linked to ISIS serve only to underline the totality of his ignorance on this issue,” said Charles Lister, a fellow at the Middle East Institute.
Lister noted the video contains a long list of elements that a jihadi video would never include, among them countless uncovered women, men in shorts and tank tops, and a man holding arms with a woman.
“Nobody can deny that ISIS poses a threat to U.S. national security, but giving credence to such ridiculous claims is arguably even more dangerous,” Lister said."

The original video, minus all of the Islamaphobic mind-melt.

Everything Trump does is so predictable. The political theater we are witnessing is nothing short of genius. His entire campaign is a script, and it is exposing the racist underbelly of our country magnificently! When will these dumb hicks realize they are being rope-a-doped? I'm betting on never.

UPDATED!!! UPDATED!!! UPDATED!!! UPDATED!!! UPDATED!!! UPDATED!!!

According to ABC News, all that Trump knows is what's on the internet. Oh boy. Reminder. This is the man who wants to lead our country.

Via ABC News:

"Nada Bakos, a former CIA targeting officer and analyst, said the video is "clearly dubbed over."
"Overlaying Arabic music does not make a terrorist video," she said.
Bakos said she worries about Trump’s judgment, saying what’s posted on the internet isn’t always accurate.
"It's disturbing to me that Donald Trump will take things at face value," she said. "If he's [president and] reading intelligence that comes to his desk ... that's imperfect information. How is he going to discern what's true and what 's not?"
Bakos said ISIS wants to make Muslims in America feel unwanted and "Trump is playing perfectly into that strategy.""

Restoring the honor!

  1. Facts have no meaning for the Trump supporters. It is all about beliefs. He says what they want to hear. Of course he is just speaking to the gullible, but we're talking about people that willingly support with their own money the lies of the lost cause. They buy the books from these shysters, pay to hear them speak, and purchase their sponsored products.

    1. True. On the flipside, many of these same suckers also believe that a total collapse is imminent. They're counting on it actually. They think that once we have collapse (we won't) they are going to reinstitute their Whitemanistan (they're not). I've heard that many Democrats are changing party this election cycle, but is it because they are now becoming Republicans, or is it because Donald Trump is the Democrats dream candidate and they want to ensure his place in the general election to secure their win? I have a feeling it is the latter.

Honeypot or not, the White Supremacists who are hopeful because they see this 15 minute window as their time to shine are going to be in for a rude awakening when the carpet is pulled out from under their feet and they fall flat on their faces. You've been had. America is watching, and taking notes. Enjoy your 15 minute euphoric high, because it's almost over. Dimassimo never had any intention to hurt that pathetic narcissist. Overall, what the Left wants is peace, love, inclusion, and equality.

The era of playing the phony race card is coming to a close. Most of what's called "racism" is just human nature not negative at all and after several decades of the loony left calling things "racist" that aren't racist (you know, like this blog does) -- the word is losing its meaning and power.

      2) Yes, we understand that's the best argument you have. Sorry, you guys aren't going to come out on top with all of your hate speech while we're preaching peace. You're not going to convince people that you're great while you're espousing hate, division, murder, racism, etc..

      3) No one is playing any "race card". You guys are racists and everyone can see it. This is why no one wants your dumb, ugly rags, because they know exactly what they symbolize, and so do you.

And you believe him, but you don't know what his intentions were. He could be lying. I mean, if he DID intend to harm Trump, do you think he would tell CNN? You're cray cray.

"Hate speech." A made up accusation by the usual leftists.

Yes, the race card gets played all the time and people are sick of it. That's why Trump is so popular. The way you leftists define "racists" it's not that bad a thing, you know? It's losing its meaning and potency as an accusation.

If nobody wants a flag, they don't have to buy one. See how simple that is? Our beautiful flag is going up in more and more places... hahaha...

    5. 1) True, he could be lying. That's not the point though. The point is, he didn't harm Donald Trump. There's no evidence that he ever intended to do any more than he has said which was to spit on him (which I personally consider "harm" myself, but not in a physical sense) and to commandeer his microphone in front of his own supporters to embarrass him. Those were his stated intentions. Short of any other evidence (which you've failed to produce) I have no reason to believe he intended to do more.

      2) Yes some white people (like yourself) are sick of the "race card" being played, and by that you mean people like myself pointing out to the world your racism. Well guess what? Short of a Supreme Court ruling silencing my protected speech, I'm not going anywhere.

      3) That's fine. Keep putting them up. I love it when you make the case against yourself for me.

  4. In an interview with CNN, Thomas DiMassimo denied being part of the terror group.

LOLOL!!! What's he gonna do? ADMIT IT? His denial means nothing Noth-thing, zero, zip, nada. In fact, his whole statement throws his denial into deep and grave doubt.

“I am not a member of ISIS. I have no known ties to ISIS. I’ve never been out of the country. I only speak English,” the 22-year-old said, adding that he is a Christian.

No KNOWN ties to ISIS.... I guess that makes Dim-ass-imo's ties to ISIS UNKNOWN then, huh. ... you know, like secret, clandestine, hidden, surreptitious.

Oh, and you don't have to go out of the country to support ISIS. What a ridiculous statement.

He only speaks English ... as if that proves anything. No telling how many ISIS thugs speak English -- they make videos that are in English, dipstick.

What a ridiculous little man. What a jerk.

Oh, and if he's telling the press he's a Christian, that puts him in the same situation as Dana Casey Jones, doesn't it? So hop to it, Jacob, and throw a throw some Christian-claims ridicule on him like you did with her.

You just can't make this stuff up...

"Multiculturalism," "inclusiveness" and the "anti-racist" treatments are intended only on behalf of those (groups/races/individuals) who vote for the Democrat party. But the "multiculturists"/"anti-racists" reserve the right to be as racist and bigoted against any group or individual that does not vote Demo.

    1. What are you talking about? Any stupid person from the country can be a "hick". There's nothing racist or racial about that. Many. Most, happen to be white. I have no animosity on the basis of race. The Confederate Heritage movement on the other hand? Full of hate for people of a skin color "other than white" as evidenced by the knee jerk reaction every time a Confederate monument is vandalized, that whites need to vandalize MLK or other Civil Rights monuments as retribution (even before a culprit is apprehended.) I can do an entire post on that if you'd like with a plethora of examples.

News flash: I'm not a Democrat. Neither are many on the Left as we're seeing from the strong run by Sanders (also, not truly a Democrat, kind of like Trump, not being a Republican) If there's one thing we can say about this election cycle, it is that Americans are fed up with business as usual in politics. What remains to be seen is if the will of the people is enough to make a difference.

      http://deadconfederates.com/2011/01/02/thomas-tobe-and-the-limits-of-confederate-pension-records/

tl;dr - Mr. Hall: There’s no contemporary evidence of Tobe’s service, except as an impressed free black man working as a hospital steward in Columbia. He may well have accompanied a military unit in the field as he claimed on his pension application, as a cook or servant or in similar capacity, but there’s no record of that so it remains an open question... The existence of a pension record is not definitive evidence of a man’s status in 1861-65.

Impressed... conscript... both give the sense of involuntary service.

I believe I read in that link to Mr. Levin's article that Tennessee had a law that forced free blacks into militia service. Although, since it was illegal for blacks to be armed, I don't understand what role, other than supporting, they were supposed to play.

Do you know if South Carolina had a similar law?

    15. I haven't gone through them all, but I can confirm that service records do exist for free blacks in the 25th Tennessee. So yes, Black Confederates do exist. My next question though is in what context did they exist? One thing that struck me as odd was the length of their service. It was very short. 3-4 months, I recall. I will look at this some more tonight. I haven't had a chance to read through Kevin Levin or Andy Hall's articles, although I did skim, and it looked like they tackled the context end of this. I'll have a look at that too.

    16. Every company of the 25th Tennessee has a gap in its record from late 1861 to the summer of 1862 (see "Unit Information"). Don't know why. They unit was not captured and held as POWs during that period.

The black troops were probably discharged when the conscript law went into effect in April 1862. They were exempt.

Yes, but conscripts were IN the army.

"it was illegal for blacks to be armed"

The law varied from state to state. Some had a universal ban while others allowed ownership or use of weapons under certain circumstances.

    18. Hey BR, looking through these service records and cross referencing what others have researched and written about this regiment, I've found some differences in the service records for whites and blacks (or rather confirmed what others have already found.) Every single service record I have looked at so far for the free men of color DOES NOT include a rank, while the service records for the whites do. What accounts for this difference in the service records?

    20. Also, we need clarification of "men of color". From what I've read, this doesn't necessarily mean black. Nor does it mean they weren't white. As governments typically do, there are lots of qualifiers for this or that qualification... It's enough to make you want to leave and start your own government...

      Delete
    21. "we need a clarification"

For some it would be impossible to know, as "mulatto" or "colored" just means mixed race. They could be any combination of white, Native American, and black - either two of those or all three.

      From Ye Olde Poste:
"CWG has discovered that historians and staff - notably Robert Krick -...have sifted through about 100,000 soldiers' records to see how many non-whites were represented. Non-whites could be blacks, Native Americans, and mulattoes..."

      My reply:
      "I found 29"

    22. "I've found some differences in the service records for whites and blacks"

I've never claimed they were treated as perfect equals. That would be naïve.

United States Colored Troops were not treated equal. In fact, blacks ("colored," Native American, etc) in the U.S. Army had secondary status until about the 1950s.

      Delete
    23. So, for clarification, are we now talking about any "men of color" now being considered for the designation of "black confederate"?
